[edit] League Races

[edit] Definition

League races are the very race event. As a specific set of league events defines a league, a specific set of league races defines a league event. Shortly, it’s possible to say that League Races correspond to the races concerning the single groups.

Anyway, unlike the set of League Events, established at the beginning by the league, the set of league races which form a particular league event is defined step by step, at the approaching of a new league event. This happens because, being the number of League subscribers growable, this change the number of groups (league races) which have to take place to complete the several League Events.

In short, at the beginning of each league are listed those which will be League Events, but it isn’t possible to establish suddenly how many league races will be organized for each league event. The rLeague structure, in fact, is conceived to guest a virtually indefinite number of drivers in each league, changeable number (always growing) even during the league itself is going on.

Help us with an example.

  league A
  League Event 1 - 01/02/2007
  League Event 2 - 08/02/2007
  League Event 3 - 15/02/2007
  Number of drivers MAX/MIN in each groups: 15/7
  League Event 1
  Number of the drivers subscribed at the league, at the reaching of the League Event deadline (30/01/2007): 10
  Number of groups (and of league races): 1
  League Event 2
  Number of the drivers subscribed at the league, at the reaching of the League Event deadline (06/02/2007): 17
  Number of groups (and of league races): 2
  League Event 3
  Number of the drivers subscribed at the league, at the reaching of the League Event deadline (13/02/2007): 28
  Number of groups (and of league races): 2

As you can see from the example, the number of league races corresponds to the number of the anticipated groups for a particular league event, defined inside its own deadline.

Each League Race is defined by only two distinctive parameters:

  • Number of the groups;
  • Date and time of going on.

All the parameters needed for the game going on, from the track to the numbers of laps, from the driving helps to the race statements and so on, come directly from the ones set up for the league event and the league itself.

[edit] League races genesis

[edit] Prediction

The number of Legue Races for each league event is firstly defined when you reach the league event status “WAITING OFFICIAL GROUPS AND RECES PLANNING DEFINITION”. At this stage, the system provides to offer indications about the present expectations of subdivision of the League subscribers into one or more group(s), according to the maximum/minimum number of drivers for each groups (league parameter) and according to the number of subscribers themselves. So far (that is to say at the moment of reaching and overcoming of the time deadline of the league event of the matter of hand) everyone of the rLeague registered driver who has not subscribed the league will be able to do it: the system will provide to his/her positioning in the right group (and, if necessary, to create some new ones: see chapter “Driver placing on his/her own group”).

Therefore, at this stage, the upsaid league races are predicted, but not yet definitive.

[edit] ”Freezing” of the days and generation of the league races

The number of league races are made official and definitive when you reach the league eventIN PROGRESS”, that is the reaching or overcoming of the time deadline of the league event itself.

At this point, the system will provide to give officiality to the league races previously predicted and to send, to the private area of the users who have subscribed the league, the race summonses.

[edit] Sequence of events

[edit] Summonses (AKA "Race Summonses")

The system provides to the sending, at any private area of each driver who has subscribed the league, the so called “race summonses”.

League Races flow
League Races flow

Read also "Race Summonses".

Date and time of summons means opening date and time of the game server in the "Practice" session.

[edit] Entering into the track

The rLeague racing servers allow the convocated drivers, by means of using a password (this can be found, 40 minutes before server opening, under "Summonses" section in main site private area), only in the "Practice" and "Warmup" session of the announced League Race.

It will also be not possible to enter the game server during the "Qualify" or "Race" sessions. If you want to take part to these two phases, you’ll have to be present in the previous session, "Practice" and "Warmup" respectively.

[edit] Driver’s duties

Every driver convocated to a particular League Race must take part to it. Anyway, it’s possible to take part to the only "Race" session (so that you can enter the server before the closing of the "Warmup" session), avoiding the "Practice" and "Qualify" sessions.

[edit] Absence

"Absence" means the missing, on the rank formation, of a driver convocated to the League Race. The possible presence of a convocated driver in the "Practice", or "Qualify" or "Warmup" but NOT in the "Race" one, will anyway be considered "absence”.

In case of “absence”, the system will provide to supply:

  • For the league rank: 0 points;
  • For the Bonus/Malus DLi: 0 points.

In case all the group of the competitors will not be present (apart of by reason of force majeur) to the League Race for which it has been summonedevery competitor will suffer a penalty to their own DLIs of -150 pts.

[edit] Exceptions

A driver present during "Qualify" session but not present during "Race" session is considered as "disconneted". In this case, presence percentage is not affected.

[edit] Mass-disconnections

In case of verified mass-disconnection (more than 50% driver disconnected) during "Race" session, race will be unvalidated. Crew will provide to comnicated to summoned drivers the new race day as soon as possibile. Recovery Race Absence will automatically give, to absent drivers, 0 DLi points.

[edit] Game server crash

In case of a game server crash (contemporary and unexpected disconnection of all the competitors), during "Race" session, the race will be considered valid if:

  • drivers had covered the 60% of race laps;
  • the race replay, side server, will be available;
  • the "Race" session XML export, side server, will be available.

If it will not be in such a way, the game will be considered vain and it will be played again at the date communicated by the crew. Recovery Race Absence will automatically give, to absent drivers, 0 DLi points.
