[edit] Leagues

[edit] Definition

We call league an ordered set of motoristic events, determined before the starting of the league itself. Each league has its own results points rank, to which all the subscribed drivers take part, whose last aim is obviously to get the lead, so that they can win the "League Champion" title. The attribution method of the results points, according to the races results, is explained HERE.

Each league has some distinguishing characteristics based on the following parameters:

rLeague Leagues could be organized with different MODS, from middle-class cars to F1-like cars. (Image courtesy of rfactorcentral.com)

  • league's name;
  • used MOD;
  • maximum number of the drivers for each (eventual) group;
  • status;
  • "Practice" session duration (minutes);
  • "Qualify" session duration (minutes);
  • "Qualify" session max number of laps;
  • "Warmup" session duration (minutes);
  • races start time (when all races will start - read also timezones explanations);
  • races lenght (km.);
  • eventual "Driving Aids".
  • typical (week) Race Day.

"Status" means the league status, which can be:

  • "In Progress";
  • "Awaiting Start";
  • "Ended".

[edit] Logical Model

The leagues "Logical Model" should be expressed in the following way:

  • A league is formed by n League Events (Ex.: “France Grand Prix”, “Spain Grand Prix” and so on);
  • A league event is formed by m League Races (always > = 1) according to the numbers of the groups (Ex.: “France Grand Prix” - Group 1, “France Grand Prix” - Group 2);
  • Every league race is formed by 4 sessions ("Practice", "Qualify", "Warmup", "Race").

[edit] The exception: the SPECIAL EVENT

The SPECIAL EVENT is a league made by a single league event. The connected league races should be one or more, depending from the number of subscribers. Every week, usually on Friday, rL crew organize a new SPECIAL EVENT, that will be subscribed, run and terminated. SPECIAL EVENTS are like leagues, so rules, results points and DLi B/M are calculated in the same ways of multiple-events leagues. The only real difference is in subcription access limitation: SPECIAL EVENT have none. All SPECIAL EVENTS details are available HERE.

[edit] League Subscription

Every rLeague registered driver usually can take part to every League with the status "In Progress" or "Awaiting Start".

League Subscription flow
League Subscription flow

This means that at any moment before the ending of a league all the drivers not yet subscribed on that league should be able to do it, so that they can take part at the first useful next league event. Of course, "useful event after the registration" means that every league event is referred the one will date 48 hours after the subscription of the League.

Once a driver subscribe a league, he cannot withdraw his subscription. The new League subscribers Drivers starts with zero points (0) in results points rank and his actual own value of "Driving License Index" (DLi).

[edit] Access Limitations

Usually, each league has one or more kind of limitations, that should limit league subscription access. Limitations are usually about three kinds:

  • status: only non-Rookie drivers should subscribe a league;
  • Driving License Index Value: only drivers with a minimum DLi value should subscribe the League;
  • presence Percentage: only drivers with a minimum % of official races presence should partecipate.

By the way, to subscribe a league, it's generally needed:

  • that the League is open for subscription;
  • the eventual max subscribers number hasn't been reached (max number of subscribers is, if present, written on League detail page);
  • that the League has not crossed his half (about the total number of events).

[edit] Racing Groups

As explained before, a league event should be composed by more league races, accordind to the number of subscribers, number that must grow during the league progress. When, before the start of a league event the number of the league subscribers is higher than the "maximum number of drivers for each group", the system will create more "racing groups", so that there will be more League Races referred to the same league event.

For example:

               if the number of the League subscribed Drivers is 43, where the "maximum number of drivers for each group"
               is 15, the system will organize 3 groups: the first two (group 1 and 2) with 15 drivers and 13 drivers for
               the third and last one.

[edit] Placing a driver in his own group

Before every league event, the system provides to generate the list of the league subscribed drivers and it provides to order this list using DLi values in a decreasing order. According to the "maximum number of drivers for each group", the system will understand the number of league races needed to play the league event, putting the drivers (using the previous DLI list) in the corresponding groups.

The drivers with high DLIs values will take place in the firstly groups, so that afterwards the other drivers with lower values. If we'll have a situation according to the last group will be formed by a number lower than a half of the maximum value of the components of the group of games, the number of the expected drivers for that number, and so they will be "spread".

 For example:
               "League B"
               Maximum number of drivers: 15
               Registered drivers at the League: 49

               Groups:
               first group race: 15 drivers;
               second group race: 15 drivers;
               third group race: 15 drivers;
               fourth group race: 2 drivers.
 REVISION:
               49/4=12,25;  rounded 12
               Resultant Groups:
               first group race: 13 drivers;
               second group race: 12 drivers;
               third group race: 12 drivers;
               fourth group race: 12 drivers.

[edit] When Drivers run?

Usually, the league races of a league event runs in the same day. Check league's web details page, or the full calendar, to discover wich date. By the way, sometimes multiple race days should occours; League subscribers should always check in incoming League Events's web page effective races calendar.

[edit] Races Summonses

48 hours before the starting date/time of a particular league event, the system will provide to generate the corresponding league races' groups (as above-mentioned) and, afterwards, to send to summoned Drivers' website private area ("Summonses" section) the needed informations about:

  • Event description;
  • Summons date/time (with preformatted time-zone);
  • Racing Server;
  • Informations about game session settings (number of laps, maximum time duration etc);
  • Informations about other sessions settings ("Practice" session duration, duration and ways of qualifying, "Warmup" duration);
  • Indications about your own league race group.

[edit] After racing: results points calculation

The results points automatic attribution system automatically run after each official race (both league races or SPECIAL EVENTs races) correct execution. This algorithm is based on the following factors:

  • number of summoned drivers;
  • effective number of drivers at race start;
  • final position;
  • group number.

Gained points for each official race will not have any effects on the Driving License Index (DLi), which has a very different aim, application and calculation method, becouse it's affected by other dynamics, like driver fair play and the ability to make a full race. The aim of results points is to take the rank leadership and to determine the final league winner.

All the results points calculation details should be found HERE.

[edit] Missing a league race

If a league race summoned league subscriber driver will not appear at "Race" session start for which he has been summoned by the system, he will gain n. 0 ranking points.

As far as the Driving License Index, he'll officially get the worse DLi B/M in other drivers calculation.
